UX Designer (d/m/w)

Remote 50%, Europe,France, Germany

As a designer, you will help make our journalistic content and regional brands even more interesting for new and young target groups through your design. Your team consists of several product owners and designers. You’re reporting to the Head of Product. You work together with the Editorial Development and Growth Team on all digital products in the network.

For your story, this means:

  • The role combines strategic work – such as developing concepts and reviewing common standards and design systems – with operational implementation in the product backlog.
  • You will develop and test prototypes, visualizations and UX strategies that make our digital products more user-friendly and competitive.
  • Together with front-end developers, you will work on components for our design system.
  • User Tests, User Research and Desk Research can be carried out independently and derive informed design decisions from them.
  • You discuss suggestions and concepts with stakeholders and service providers and coordinate the associated coordination processes.
  • Active participation in product planning, reviews, retrospectives and refinements is of course yours.
  • If necessary, you can support the visual design in creating graphics.

You’ll bring this with you:

  • You have a professional or academic degree in design, media design, software development or a comparable background with a focus on digital design.
  • You bring several years of experience in the development of digital products – ideally with reference to journalism or digital media products.
  • You are safe and experienced in dealing with our tool stack – especially Figma, Jira, Slack, Adobe and Asana.
  • You have organized several user research projects independently and like to talk directly to the target group – whether in interviews, surveys or user tests.
  • You prefer to work with AI-powered tools such as Claude, Figma AI, Large Language Models and Agentic Systems and enjoy experimenting with new processes to design products.
  • Very good knowledge of Englsih,French, and Amharic at least C1 level in word and font complete your profile.
